Hello, welcome to BSA Troop 279’s website. My name is Justin Sayre. I am the Scoutmaster of Troop 279. The Troop Committee and I hope that this site will serve our current members as a place for resources and information. For our prospective scouts and their parents, we hope this is informative and helpful in your sons journey to find a troop that is right for him.
Our Troop meets every Monday from 7P to 8:30P in the E.M. Richards Building (the Scout Building) just behind
Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church

June 24-30 MVSR Summer Camp
August 10-12 Leadership retreat (only adult and youth leadership present)
The Scout Leaders will vote on the Camping schedule for 2012-2013 in August at the Leadership Retreat. Since this a Boy Scout - Lead Troop, the boys themselves vote for the activities and present them for administrative approval. While most events are well planned, the youth may make minor changes throughout the year to accommodate unforeseen circumstances.

We will be lodging in Penn. Dutch County cabin which sleeps 30+
This year our Troop will be attending Summer Camp at the Muskingum Valley Scout Reserve

Summer camp fees will be posted as soon as they are available. Last year's cost was $215.00. This will included 2 T-Shirts.

The Boy Scouts of America is committed to helping fight childhood
obesity. With the help of “Follow Me! Healthy Parents, Healthy Kids,”
we are organizing an Outdoor Health and Fitness Expo as a way for
families to get outdoors and learn about how they can move towards
a healthier lifestyle together. $5 dollar admission, includes lunch when
you register online!
